Congratulations to Ineka Salas from the City Clerk’s Office, Maddy Burton & Brieah Zuercher from Parks for completing their Green Belts!
For her project, Ineka looked at the process that occurs when documents are requested from the City Clerk’s office. As she Defined, Measured, and used a Spaghetti Diagram to Analyze the situation, she noticed the process can have a lot of back and forth movement depending on incorrect information provided by the requestor and/or the locations (whether physical or electronic) staff need to go to find the requested documents. What a great place to start looking for ways to save time and make this process more efficient for everyone involved!
For their projects, Maddy and Brieah both looked at the storage shed(s) at Pirates Bay. As they Defined, Measured, and used a Fishbone Diagram to Analyze the situation, they saw similar issues causing some of the pain points: several different people needing things in the shed, but not able to find them (or taking longer than needed to find them) and not sure where to put things back when they are done with them due to a lack of organization…and we all know how quickly an organized space can get disorganized the more people who use it! What a great time to start looking into a 6S project.
Well done!
