Baytown City Council Approves FY26 Budget

The Baytown City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2026 budget during last night’s meeting. The graphic below highlights the City’s financial plan for the upcoming year, ensuring services and projects move forward for our community.

General Fund Expenses: $142.5M. 991 full-time equivalent employees (8 position reduction). $5.5M for capital replacements/supplemental requests. $151.3M proposed general obligations elections. 7.8% water and sewer rate increase. Council also provided direction on the property tax rate. Final adoption of the tax rate is scheduled for the council meeting on September 25.
