The City of Baytown is cashing in on a great opportunity to bring more people to Texas Avenue and pump life into the old Citizens Bank building.
Mayor Brandon Capetillo and city officials joined together for a groundbreaking for what will be the city’s new Utility Services building. Mayor Capetillo, along with Councilman Chris Presley and City Manager Rick Davis, all expressed excitement about revitalizing an important piece of history in the downtown area.
The project, approved by City Council last year, will cost around $3.4 million. Construction Masters is the crew working on the building. Work has already started and it’s expected to be finished by October 2023.
