[ARCHIVED] Welcome Home

Cherry Cover

Two more Baytown families are receiving the keys to their home. However, it doesn’t look like the same home they were living in, thanks to the City’s Planning and Development Services Department.

Mayor Brandon Capetillo and other city leaders were on hand to deliver the keys over to the Ortega family on Cherry Street, featured in these pictures, and another family on Louise Street. The renovations are part of the Neighborhood Improvement Program, created to keep housing updated and up to code. The funding for this project was made available through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant Program.

While staff is not currently accepting applications for this program, the City’s Planning and Development Services Department is wanting to hear from more residents in the Pelly neighborhood regarding other available programs. If you would like to reach out, call 281-420-5398.
