[ARCHIVED] It’s Time Texas

ITT Community Challenge

Many of you have New Year’s resolutions you are trying to accomplish, especially when it comes to living a healthier lifestyle. There is a way you can do that while helping other Baytownians at the same time.

Mayor Brandon Capetillo is encouraging everyone in the community to get and stay healthy through the Be Well Baytown initiative. Mayor Capetillo, along with City Council members, joined It’s Time Texas representatives during the recent City Council meeting to recognize the non-profit organization and its Community Challenge. Each Council Member also made a pledge to make healthier choices.

It’s Time Texas is the first of its kind social organization that motivates and helps community members, regardless of age or ability, get active and make healthier decisions. The group offers free online courses, coaching and more.

Several communities are taking part in the It’s Time Texas Challenge across the state. It’s a free, eight-week competition based on simple health choices or physical activity. As of right now, Baytown is in second place statewide and needs your help. All you have to do is go to ittcommunitychallenge.com to sign up. You will get points for registering as well as logging your healthy decisions. The challenge ends February 27 so lace up your sneakers, drink a glass of water or hit the gym to earn your points now.
