It’s a phone call that no one wants to make because of why it’s needed, but it’s a call that Baytown and our nearby neighbors are ready to make when help is needed the most.
The January tornado that hit Baytown, Deer Park, and Pasadena was a difficult one for victims, but the response and unity of the communities was pretty easy. When Deer Park needed assistance with debris, Baytown sent trucks to help. At the recent City Council meeting, Deer Park Mayor Jerry Mouton presented Mayor Brandon Capetillo, City Council, and staff with two plaques to say “Thank You” for helping as both communities recovered. In a unique display of appreciation, one of the plaques showcased pictures of debris trucks from every community that jumped in to help.
During the council meeting, Deer Park Mayor Mouton told Mayor Capetillo that Deer Park is ready should Baytown ever need help. Likewise, the City of Baytown is ready to respond should Deer Park ever need help in the future. After all, it’s what neighbors do.
