We hope you have been preparing for the freezing temperatures that are coming tonight and expected to last several hours. The City of Baytown is opening a warming center at the Baytown Community Center, 2407 Market Street, beginning Thursday night at 7. It will remain open as long as this criteria is met from the National Weather Service:
- Hard Freeze Warning - lasting more than two hours
- Winter Storm Warning - more than two inches of snow, more than a half inch of sleet or 1/8th of an inch of ice that would make travel difficult.
The hope is that you don't need the Warming Center and that you're staying indoors as much as possible during this weather event. Make sure you have the Better Baytown app and have signed up for Baytown Alert to be better prepared. We will be posting updated information on the City’s website and social media channels.
