The search for Baytown’s next City Manager has reached the next step. The nationwide search started over the summer, with 60 people applying for the job.
Each candidate was evaluated against the City’s needs and qualifications, as well as experience relevant for the position. City Council has met and reviewed the candidates for the position and have narrowed the list down from 30 candidates to a total of 17 candidates. Those 17 remaining candidates were invited for a screening interview with the consultant hired to help with the process.
The consultant conducted screening interviews with the candidates and also had them submit more detailed information on their experience and background. After that, the consultant met with Council to review the information collected and to further narrow the candidate list.
The list is down to four finalists. They will be in Baytown for a formal interview process on Monday, December 5 and Tuesday, December 6. There will be a public Meet and Greet with the candidates Monday, December 5 at 6:30pm inside the Baytown Community Center. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
