Animal shelters are vital for communities to protect, care for, and help control the pet population. Plus, they are a perfect place to find a new friend! Baytown’s Animal Services and Adoption Center isn’t any different. This week we are recognizing our local facility while celebrating National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week.
There are several ways to celebrate:
Saves a life while changing the life of the next shelter animal.
Typically, this last weeks or months, but the care provided changes a pet’s life forever.
Become a part of the lifesaving work our shelter provides.
Monetary and non-monetary donations greatly impact our shelter.
- Be a Responsible Pet Owner
Keep your pet spayed/neutered and microchipped.
Share information about the shelter with the community. Let your friends know about events and fundraisers. You never know who is looking to help a pet or wanting a new friend to take home.
There are several groups using Shelter Appreciation Week to make a difference. Memorial High School students are visiting the shelter this week to volunteer and participate in activities. On Friday, Chevron Phillips employees will be helping with cleaning the shelter and nurturing the animals. Then on Saturday, Faith Family Church will clean and play with the animals as well.
