The City of Baytown continues to be recognized for excellence, winning the Triple Crown from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The GFOA’s Triple Crown designation recognizes governments who have received in the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for a fiscal year.
City Manager Rick Davis said, "This recognition highlights the exceptional emphasis the City of Baytown places on not only prudent financial management, but also open and transparent communications with our citizens and stakeholders."
He added, "It also sheds a great light on the wonderful Finance professionals serving our community.”
Baytown is only one of 317 governments that received the recognition for fiscal year 2020. For community’s to be recognized, each has to meet the high standards of all three separate award programs.
