The Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston and Convention Center is quickly changing the landscape of Bayland Island.
Mayor Brandon Capetillo and City Council joined representatives from Hyatt and DPR Construction for the hotel’s topping out ceremony. This celebration recognizes that construction crews have reached the top floor of the hotel, a significant milestone in the project.
The hotel, when complete, will feature more than 200 guestrooms and suites. The convention center will feature close to 18,000 square feet of conference and meeting space.
At the ceremony, City Manager Rick Davis and Mayor Capetillo thanked the construction workers for their hard work in reaching this point. Crews will now start working on the inside portions of the hotel while continuing work on the convention center. The grand opening is scheduled for April 2023.
More details, including what the hotel rooms look like, will be featured in the next edition of the Baytown Voice, coming out soon. Also, be looking for more updates on baytown.org and the City’s social media channels.
