Construction is moving right along at Bayland Island as the Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston and Convention Center takes shape.
Crews are working on site utilities such as water, sanitary, storm drainage and building foundations. The aerial picture of the project gives you a good idea of how much work has been done since the groundbreaking last September.
The upscale, full service property will feature 208 guestrooms and suites, a full-scale restaurant, outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, and nearly 18,000 square feet of conference and meeting space. Baytown residents are not paying for the hotel and convention center through property taxes because most of the project was paid for by private investors.
So, when will the project be complete? We’re told it should be complete by February 2023 and the grand opening should take place in April 2023.
