This week, Mayor Brandon Capetillo and members of the city council were in Austin to be recognized during the City of Baytown Day at the Capitol. Baytown was honored for its 75th anniversary, but the trip was primarily focused on legislative priorities and what can be done to bring more state funding to Baytown.
City leaders met with State Senators Mayes Middleton, Carol Alvarado, and Brandon Creighton, as well as Representatives Ana
Hernandez, Briscoe Cain, and Terri Leo Wilson. The Baytown group also met representatives with the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Railroad Commission.
