Hot Weather Safety

Baytown Weather (1)

Friday truly has been a Fry-day with temperatures soaring in the upper 90s. The heat index has been even higher, making it feel even warmer. That weather trend will continue through the weekend. The City of Baytown wants to make sure you stay safe. Make sure you drink plenty of water, find shade as much as possible, and take frequent breaks if you’re going to be outside for any amount of time. Also, make sure you check on the elderly frequently and make sure your pets have a way to escape the heat. It’s also important to never leave a child or pet in a vehicle.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect on Saturday. For more helpful tips, here’s what the National Weather Service suggests.

At this time, Baytown is not ready to activate cooling centers but conditions will continue to be monitored. Please be safe when enjoying your weekend activities.
