Polly's Swim School

Pirates Bay and Calypso Cove are the perfect place for your child’s swimming lessons. Whether your child is new to the water or simply learning to become a stronger swimmer, we have a class for every skill level.

Learning to swim significantly reduces the risk of drowning. Drowning is the 2nd leading cause of unintentional injury death for children under 14, with the highest rates among children ages 1-4. Whether or not you plan to head to the pool, water is all around us - in rivers, lakes, drainage ditches, bathtubs, and even large puddles. By equipping your child with the lifesaving skill of swimming you'll be opening doors to a lifetime of fun, fitness, and even employment opportunities!  And did you know, children can participate in swimming lessons before they can walk? Parent/child swim lessons provide water safety education and bonding opportunities that can last a lifetime.

Due to the limited space available in each session and class, a registration waitlist will be maintained. Those who register for a class and do not attend the first class in their session will lose their spot to a student on the waitlist.

Parent and Child Swim Lessons: Recommended for children ages 6 months to 3 years old.
Family members introduce infants & toddlers to the joy of swimming. Infants & toddlers will be encouraged to blow bubbles, play with water toys, and experience the reaching and kicking that will later lead to proper stroke development. Toddlers will also be encouraged to float on front & back. Our focus is fun and comfort in the water.

Pre-School Swim Lessons: Recommended for children ages 3 to 5 years old. This level is a fun introduction to water with an emphasis the basic mechanics of swimming with support in the shallow end. Safety rules and introductory lifesaving techniques are also taught at this level.

Learn to Swim Lessons: Recommended for children ages 5 to 12 years old.
The Learn to Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving your child the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, our Learn to Swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water. During the first class of each session, your child will be tested to determine what Learn to Swim level they are in. After testing each child will be placed into a level class and will remain in that class for the rest of the session.
