The Baytown Fire Department is a career fire department with 124 uniformed paid firefighters. An annual written civil service examination is given to establish an eligibility list of candidates for employment. A candidate must pass the written examination to be considered for employment. Applications are accepted from individuals that are currently Certified as a Firefighter through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and possess a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic or Texas Department of State Health Services Certification or Licensed Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.
The application period will open on Monday, April1, 2013 and will close on Friday, May 17, 2013. The entrance examination will be administered on Friday, June 28, 2013. The certified list will be active for one year or until exhausted.
