Nurture Nature by Fishing for Fun
What’s summer without fishing? Angler Education is on the agenda for the July “Nurture Nature Series” at the Baytown Nature Center (6213 Bayway Drive). On Saturday, July 7, Nature Center naturalist Crissy Butcher and Superintendent of Natural Resource Programs, Tracey Prothro, will share Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Angler Education curriculum from 10 am – noon. The seminar is free with admission to the nature center (Admission for adults and children over 13 is $3).
The program focuses on several points of angler education including fish identification and basic tackle and equipment. Following the instruction period, participants may practice their new-found skills during a catch and release session. Participants do not need to bring any gear; the nature center will furnish all materials, including fishing rods and bait. This is an excellent introduction to a lifetime hobby/sport for all ages.
