The organization is now branching out from the City and will be working more closely with their Partners Against Litter (PALs) and bringing in even more community partners in the coming year. Be ready to see and hear Great Things from this Growing group of dedicated volunteers!
Thanks to everyone who came out for the Baytown Recycles Day on November 16th!
Special Thanks to Lowe’s for the location, and to FCC Environmental, B-ROC Metals Recovery, and Liberty Tire for staffing the event &/or recycling these materials at no charge to our residents!
As Always, Thank you to our Partners Against Litter:

Household* Hazardous Waste
HHW must not be disposed in regular trash! How should I properly dispose of Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW)?
Residents may want to hold such items for the next scheduled HHW collection event (held in April). If you are unable to safely wait for that event, here are options for proper disposal of HHW:
Permanent collection sites for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) nearby are listed here. For Baytown residents in Harris County, the newest HHW collection site is at:
6900 Hahl Rd (at 290 and North Gessner)
Houston, TX 77040
Hours Open to the Public:
Wednesdays - 9AM - 3PM
2nd Saturdays of each month - 9AM - 3PM
This facility may be closed during holiday weeks.
Baytown residents living in Chambers County are invited to contact Chambers County Solid Waste Department for questions regarding proper disposal, at 409-267-8202.
*NOTE: This information is for HOUSEHOLD wastes only. BUSINESSES have very specific regulations under Federal and State Law. Contact TX Commission on Environmental Quality for information at http://www.tceq.texas.gov/agency/business_main.html
Latex paint may be disposed with regular trash once it is COMPLETELY dried out. For a large volume, one option is to put a large garbage bag in a big cardboard box and then pour out the paint into the bag (in layers if necessary) until all the material is dry. Please note: this is only for latex (water-based) paints, NOT for those which are oil-based (including also varnishes, lacquers, or similar).
For additional drop-off locations and more local HHW contact information, visit Earth911.com.
