PUBLIC NOTICE OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY

The City of Baytown is attempting to locate the rightful owners of unclaimed money or property. Perhaps they forgot to pick up a water deposit refund, a payroll or vendor check or money from other transactions with the City of Baytown. This money/property is presumed abandoned and is subject to Title VI, Chapter 76 of the Texas Property Code.

The City of Baytown would love to connect the rightful owners with the money/property that belongs to them. It is not the City's cash to keep. We need your help to make this happen. Here’s how to do it.

    There are several names on the list below in alphabetical order. Each individual or entity is owed $100 or less. In accordance with State Law, the City of Baytown sends any amount over $100 to the State Comptroller’s Office, where it is held until claimed. Click ClaimItTexas.org, to be taken to the Official State of Texas Unclaimed Property Website.

  2. Contact the City of Baytown Treasury, Unclaimed Property Division.

  3. By addressing an inquiry to the City of Baytown Treasurer, any person possessing a legal or beneficial interest in the reported property can obtain information on the amount of the money/property. The Treasurer’s Office can be contacted by Email, U.S. Mail, by phone or in person (see below) in order to obtain information on the amount of the money/property.

  4. Obtain and Complete a Claim Form.

    If you have unclaimed property, download the claim form from this site, or contact the Treasurer’s Office by email, U.S. mail, by phone, or in person using the information listed above.

    IMPORTANT: ALL CLAIM FORMS MUST BE FULLY COMPLETE AND SUBMITTED, BY U.S. MAIL, WITH PROPER DOCUMENTATION AND ORIGINAL SIGNATURE(S). NO SCANNED OR FACIMILE COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

  5. File Your Claim.

    After you have completed the claim form, mail your claim to the City of Baytown Treasurer’s Office at the address shown above. Please allow 30-60 days to process and pay your claim. You will be contacted should the Claims Examiner have any question regarding your claim.
