The division of a parcel of land into two or more parts is a subdivision and is regulated by the City of
Establishing a subdivision of a tract, establishing lots, or proposing to establish streets, squares, parks or other parts of the tract intended to be dedicated to public use or for the use of purchasers is a subdivision.
Applications for a subdivision must be submitted to the Planning and Development Services Department. A property owner must hire a surveyor, registered in the State of Texas, to prepare a subdivision plat. The platting procedure consists of an application, fee and a preliminary and final development plan of the entire development meeting the standards of Chapter 126 of the City of Baytown Code of Ordinances.
