Sterling Library to Host Video Game Trivia Night

Sterling Municipal Library will host a Video Game Trivia Night: Decades Edition on Thursday, July 6 in celebration of national Video Game Day to be held later that week. Video game fans are invited to form teams of up to 5 to test their knowledge of favorite games past and present.  Doors to the library meeting room open at 5:30 pm.

Librarian and Quizmaster Katie Beverly has developed questions in a variety of video game categories that span the decades, beginning in the 1980s with classics like Duck Hunt and Frogger and continuing to more recent releases like Skyrim and Candy Crush Saga. Attendees will also be quizzed on video games in movies and literature. “Video game trivia is a great way for all kinds of nerds to come together to succeed,” Katie said. “And it gives an opportunity for people who may not have played video games recently to win.” As with most turn-based adventuring games, it is best if your party has a variety of specialties. The more diverse your team’s gaming experience is, the better your chance at claiming victory.

Only the team with the highest score will be worthy of rescuing the princess from the castle and bagging the loot. The winning team will receive a 3D printed trophy of a TETRIS block with Donkey Kong on top and, of course, bragging rights.

Players can try their luck solo or form a team of up to 5. Team captains must be 16 years of age or older.  Teams can register in advance at or by calling Sterling Municipal Library at 281-427-7331. Refreshments will be served.
