City to Conduct Fifth Annual Citizen Survey

Beginning this week, 1200 randomly selected Baytown households will have an opportunity to complete the City of Baytown’s fifth annual citizen survey, to provide feedback to City leaders on their satisfaction with various city services and what issues should receive the highest priority over the next two years. The DirectionFinder citizen survey will be conducted by ETC Institute, a professional survey organization that administers citizen surveys to cities throughout the country.

Residents who receive the survey can mail in the completed form, respond by phone or complete the survey online. Once the necessary number of surveys has been completed and the sample is statistically representative of the City’s population with regard to the demographic and geographic composition of the sample, the survey will conclude.

The survey should only take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. “This survey is critical because we get to hear from residents who may not have the time to visit City Hall but still want to be a part of making their city better,” said Nick Woolery, Director of Strategic Initiatives. “The responses are used to measure our progress relative to the newly adopted strategic plan and in making budgetary decisions for the next fiscal year.”

Once results are calculated, they will be presented to the City Council sometime in May. Results are accessible on the City’s website (www.baytown.org) in the City Hall –Accountability section. For more information contact Nick Woolery at 281-420-6690 or survey@baytown.org.
