Mad Science Comes Alive at Spring Break Camp

It’s almost time for spring break. Do your kids have a week full of exciting activities planned with daily field trips to places of interest all over the Houston/Baytown/Galveston area? If not, they’re missing the best part of spring break. The Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education Center at 1724 Market Street in Baytown is continuing its tradition of offering the most exciting spring break camp in town. This year it’s “Mad Science.”

Each day during the week of March 13-17 campers in grades 4-6 will experience the depths of science through creepy animals and plants, spend time in the science lab investigating gross science up close with many hands-on activities and learn the science behind bacteria and slime mold as we grow them.

Each camp day begins at 8 am and ends at 4 pm. That’s 40 hours of fun-filled adventures for only $150. Transportation to all the exciting field trip destinations and daily snacks are furnished by the Wetlands Center. Campers bring their own lunches to enjoy in various locations around the area as they are out and about on field trips, including to the Health Museum of Houston to visit the Body Worlds RX, The Big Thicket National Preserve to learn about carnivorous plants, and Houston Museum of Natural Science: Mummies of the World.

Make this the best spring break ever for your children by registering them for Spring into Nature: Mad Science camp. The flyer and registration forms are found online at www.baytown.org under the tab “Recreation/ Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education Center/Education Programs.”  Registration begins February 13, 2017.
